Andriana Janevska (06.12.1981) was born in Skopje, where she currently resides and works. She started her musical education at the age of 6 in primary music school, violin section. She finished high school at DMBUC "Ilija Nikolovski - Luj" in Skopje, violin section, class of prof. Ile Temkov. In 2004, she graduated with honours from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the vocal-instrumental department – violin section, class of prof. Ljubisa Kirovski. In 2011, she graduated with a GPA of 10.00 at the Department of Music Theory and Pedagogy, Department of Music Teaching Methodology, class of prof. Dr. Victoria Kolarovska Gmirja. She obtained a PhD in Music Folklore at the Institute of Folklore under the supervision of prof. Dr. Rodna Velichkovska.
During her secondary musical education, she attended additional classes in conducting and composition and actively participates in violin seminars organized by violinists Marina Yashvili and Blagoja Dimchevski.
She is a full –time employee at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje - Faculty of Music, as a professor of solfege and solo singing in popular genres. She is the owner of the music studio "Ginovski", where she works as a composer, singer, violinist, arranger, pianist and producer of domestic and foreign releases (songs, commercials, video games). She is the owner of the private music school “Andrijana Janevska School of Music”, where currently over 100 students are educated in the subjects of solfege, violin, piano and solo singing - popular genres.
She was a full-time employee as first violinist in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet for twenty years (2003 – 2023). She has worked as a music teacher at the Faculty of Audio-Visual Arts ESRA Paris-Skopje-New York, a music teacher at Algoritam High School, a violin teacher at the music school in Kumanovo, as well as a teacher of solfege, music theory, pop singing and piano at Enterprise School of Music. She has also worked as a professional music contributor in the children's magazines “Rosica” and “Smeshko”. Every year she is a regular guest - lecturer in institutions of public interest, cultural and information centers, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. For several years, she was the musical mentor of the Macedonian representatives of the children's Eurosong.
Besides singing and working as a violinist, she plays piano and bass guitar. She was the backing vocalist of many artists, including Vlatko Stefanovski, Jiboni and Bajaga. She has written many compositions in the field of popular music, and she also appears as a lyricist and arranger of many popular songs. From 1988 to 1996, she was a member of the children's spiritual music choir "Piccolo". From 1999 to 2015, she was an active member of the women's chamber choir "St. Zlata Meglenska". She was a member of several jury commissions at state and international music and art competitions. She has published two books in the professional field: "Leds" - publisher Eduka Mak 2015 and "Listen, sing, play" - publisher Prosvetno Delo 2017. Several times a year she is honored at scientific conferences in Macedonia, and has also presented in Rome and Moscow.
As a violinist she has performed in Osijek and Zagreb - Croatia, Athens - Greece, Niš and Belgrade - Serbia, Paris - France, Rome - Italy, New York, New Jersey, Washington and Los Angeles - USA, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney - Australia, Hamburg - Germany and Toronto - Canada.
She made her debut as a singer and author at “Skopje Fest” 1998 with her own composition, and in 1999 at the same festival she won the award for best interpretation, best text and second prize from the jury. At the “Skopje Festival” in 2000, she performed with the song "Your letter, my Bible", which would become a hit of the decade. She won first prize at “Makfest” 2000 with the song "Love is your address", and in 2001 she won the Grand Prix at the “Skopje Festival” with the song “Nostalgia”. That same year, she launched her first solo album "My Bible". At “Makfest” 2001, she won second place with the song "Day by Day". In 2000, she held solo concerts in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. In 2002, she again competed at the Eurovision Song Contest, where she won second place with the song "O Sherry, Mon Sherry". In the same year, she held a solo concert in Munich, Germany.
In 2006, she launched her second solo album, "Day". In 2008, with the Mitan project, she released an album with 15 traditional Macedonian songs "Macedonian Roses". The album was declared the best-selling release of 2008. The very next year, 2009, she released a new album with traditional Macedonian songs, "The Story of One Boy", as a continuation of the project with Mitan. In 2010, she released a children's Christmas songs album titled "Zvezdichka mala". In 2011, in collaboration with Tanja Veda, she released the album "When you're happy", which contains 15 children's songs from the English-speaking world, sung in Macedonian. In 2015, she promoted the project "Sleeps", which is the first project of its kind in Macedonia. It contains a book for children with illustrations and an album with 10 lullaby stories and 10 children's lullabies in Macedonian. In 2017, she promoted the edition "Listen, sing, play" with traditional children's songs, and in 2019 she released the album "Atisarga" in collaboration with the Slovenian musician Boštjan Leben. In 2020, she recorded the composition “Together is beautiful” by the composer George Fenton in the famous Abbey Road studio in London as the only violinist from Macedonia in the orchestra “The Earth Orchestra”. A documentary film was also recorded and shown on BBC Earth. In the same year, she recorded the composition “One Human” as the only interpreter from Macedonia together with 123 artists from all over the world, which entered the Guinness Book of Records as the song with the most performers.
During her prolific concert career, she has performed in all cities throughout Macedonia. She has performed abroad in Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Slovakia, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Cyprus, Serbia, Portugal, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia, Australia, Canada and the USA. She performed several times as a vocal soloist accompanied by the Macedonian Philharmonic and the Macedonian Opera and Ballet orchestra. She has held many solo concerts throughout Macedonia, accompanied by chamber orchestras and larger bands. In 2014, she played the main role (Penelope) in the first musical in Macedonia "Penelope X" written by the composer Nikola Kodžabashija.
As a singer and author, she has released 11 albums and over 50 singles.
Her biggest hobby is chess, and as a spokesperson for the Chess Federation of Macedonia, she organizes the European Chess Cup in Struga. She is a member of the chess club “Gambit”. She is a lover of all sports, but mostly practices mountain climbing, hiking, swimming and fishing. She has trained swimming with Olympian swimmer Natasha Meshkovska for several years. She is the host of the series "Special stories with Andriana Janevska" where she travels and explores Macedonia with her Honda CBF 600 motorcycle.
Since 2009, she has been married to Dragan Ginovski - Gino, an acclaimed Macedonian rock guitarist and composer (Archangel), with whom she has two sons, Dimitar (born 2011) and Christian (born 2015). She speaks English fluently.
